day of atonement

So, this being NYC and all, there are going to be a lot of people out there who are observing Yom Kippur on Friday and Saturday. Which means that theaters will have lots of tickets available. This is a good weekend to do some research and see if there are discounts for the shows you want to see. If I were going to the theater this weekend, I would probably try and see Richard Maxwell’s Good Samaritans at St. Ann’s, previews of Nobody’s Lunch at Performance Space 122 and Rose Rage at the Duke at the New 42nd Street theater, among others. HERE has good stuff too, Orpheus and The Loneliness of Noam Chomsky.

Like I said, do your research and make some phone calls and I bet you can find discount seats to most shows around town this weekend. And as for me, well, I wish I’d been a little less well behaved this year, so I’d have something to atone for. Ah well, there’ always next year.
