BRIC House Fireworks Residency Program open call for proposals

BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn announces an open call for the BRIC House Fireworks Residency Program, a residency and commissioning program for collaborative teams of artists interested in developing new, multidisciplinary work located in the BRIC house, a new exhibition and performance complex slated to open in Brooklyn Heights in 2013. The program provides technical and financial resources to develop large-scale creative projects that cross—or erase—artistic boundaries and engage with Brooklyn audiences.

Eligible projects must involve artists who are working in at least two of the three programmatic disciplines offered by BRIC: contemporary art, performing arts and media. To qualify, at least one artist on the team must live or work in Brooklyn. From the initial applications, BRIC will invite selected applicants to develop a full proposal, work plan and budget to be presented to an artistic advisory committee.

For complete guidelines and application information, please visit: http://www.bricartsmedia.org/about/bric-house/bric-house-fireworks-residency/guidelines-application. The deadline for response is April 13, 2012.

BRIC’s Residency Manager, Risa Shoup, will be available to answer any questions throughout the open call process.  Risa will be reachable by phone (718) 683-5619 or via email, rshoup@bricartsmedia.org.

Fireworks was created by BRIC with support provided by the Rockefeller Foundation’s NYC Cultural Innovation Fund.
