GoTour Benefit and Workshops

Most of you have heard of GoTour.org, the new website launched by The Field to help artists tour independently. Its a great idea and it looks like it’ll be really helpful to the community.

If you want to celebrate the launch and help them raise money to keep it going, you should go to their launch party/benefit on Monday, May 24th.

Also, they’re offering a bunch of free workshops this summer.

Highlights include:
*Free drink specials from 6-7 PM
*Excellent home-style food from 6-8 PM
*Performances by Jane Comfort and Company, David Parker and The Bang Group, Mike Daisey and others.

*FREE SUMMER WORKSHOPS*

This summer, The Field is offering a series of free workshops for performing artists interested in the world of independent touring.

Participate in a GoTour Workshop and learn practical tools to plan your next tour! Find out about touring resources on The Field’s new website, GoTour.org.

Workshop topics include:
-“nuts and bolts” of touring
-venues, publicity, making contacts
-rewards, challenges, and expectations
-performer-entrepreneur: art as a cultural product
-touring resources on GoTour.org
