FORGING NEW PATHS: ARTISTS TAKING ACTION

Whether out of necessity, or preference, many individuals work independently to create opportunities for themselves and others in their field. Artists have been directly responsible for shaping their futures and shifting models that are outdated or ineffective through establishing collective workspaces, artist driven think tanks, as well as a diversity of platforms for performance and presentation. Forging New Paths will explore the many manifestations of the art maker / activist from both historical and current viewpoints with an emphasis on empowering individual artists to take action and affect change.
