Call to Artists: “Day de Dada”

“Day de Dada”, an annual performance art festival held in Staten Island, NY is looking for artists to participate in and perform short original performances for the 2005 “Day de Dada Performance Art Show” to be held at the Staten Island Museum and grounds at Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Saturday June 11th, 2005.

Pieces should be no more than 10 minutes in length and inspired by the free thinking creativity of Dadaism. Pieces should stimulate audience participation and reaction. Artists are encouraged to be experimental, use nontraditional media and medium, and break the wall between audience and artist. A central area will beavailable but we are also looking for site work and creative use of the space with sound pieces, temporary installations and off center performances. There will be an opportunity to sign up for an open mike on the day of the show but advance sign up is strongly encouraged.
