Fresh Meat at The Chocolate Factory

FRESHMEAT – DECEMBER 2006

At The Chocolate Factory, L.I.C., New York

Fresh Meat is a recurring festival of new works-in-progress curated by Chocolate Factory Artistic Director Brian Rogers and Guest Curator Aaron Rosenblum. Fresh Meat seeks submissions in dance, theater, music, multimedia, or any combination of the above.

Festival dates are December 7-23, 2006.

The Chocolate Factory is a 5,000 sq ft multi-arts facility located in Long Island City, Queens. In addition to the work of its founders, the Factory supports the work of visiting artists in a variety of disciplines including theater, dance, music and multimedia. Details available at: www.chocolatefactorytheater.org.

The goal of Fresh Meat is to provide a forum for the creation of new work specifically for the Chocolate Factory’s unique ground floor and basement performance spaces, and to support the continuing development of an ongoing project. Fresh Meat is not looking for finished works – though we are open to work that has been shown before in other venues provided the work is still ongoing.

This is not a performance showcase. Work should be performance ready. No staged readings. Artists will be encouraged to use their residency period and our technical resources to make significant progress with their work.
