… that is according to Nina Katchadourian. In the NYTimes today, you can read about her public art project at Liberty and William Streets in Lower Manhattan. Use a large scale touristy-telescope to peek into the window of a commercial building, then translate a code made out of everyday objects placed on the window-sill to find out the inhabitants’ feelings for the day. The messages are inspired by Katchadourian’s interest in nautical code and shipwreck culture. Messages such as I have received faulty instructions. I am dragging anchor; I require a tug; I am ending maneuvers early,” have been seen.(NYTimes) Take a trip downtown and you might find you have something in common with the anonymous window dresser…..
