TONY Travesty

We don’t cover the Broadway scene, it’s not our beat, but we’re completely bummed that downtown luminaries Kiki & Herb lost the Special Theatrical Event Tony to a ventriloquist. Really, Tony voters? We’re happy for Jay Johnson and all (we guess), but if you can embrace a racy rock musical like Spring Awakening, whycome you can’t throw a bone to the “boozy chantoozy” and her gay-jew-tard pianist?

Anyhoo, here’s a number from the duo’s residency at Joe’s Pub, where the inimitable Kiki takes on the Bowie classic “Space Oddity.” Enjoy. And lament their loss.
