goings-on around town.

let’s see, DTW’s new website is kind of up and running. it looks pretty cool. They now use the entire name of the organization in the URL and, apparently, will be having a blog. Welcome to the blogosphere, DTW! Their season starts tonight with DanceNow.

BAM starts Thursday with Ian McKellen in Trevor Nunn’s staging of King Lear.  It is running in rep with The Seagull.  Those should be quite the events.

September 12th at Japan Society is the beginning of a run of Basil Twist’s Dogugaeshi, which in turn is the kick off (or part of the kick-off) of their centennial celebration with fantastic japanese and japanese-inspired work all over town.

The Kitchen kicks things off with their annual block party on September 15th.

P.S.122‘s season starts  September 26 with the Dutch company Dood Paard’s MedEia and on September 27 with a show called The International Show:A Panikk Transatlantique featuring New Yorkers Young Jean Lee and Iver Findlay collaborating with a Norwegian and a German.

Also on the week/end of September 26 is Prelude ’07 which is going to be fantastic! It will feature work by tons of great artists as well as compelling panel discussions and ample opportunities to mix and mingle and brew up creative trouble.  So Culturebot looks forward to seeing everyone at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at CUNY.

Oh boy, its going to be a busy, busy fall.
