Time.com Summer Preview

Orli Sharaby from 360i sent me this email.  I guess 360i is some kind of internet marketing agency doing search optimization and social media advertising and marketing.  So on one level, its a little discomfiting to be getting solicited to shill for MSM. On the other hand, its free content and also a little flattering that Culturebot is on the map enough to be solicited. So, you know, all you MSM types feel free to solicit me. But remember,  my editorial opinion and imprimatur is easily swayed by offers of free food, drink, tickets, parties, travel and insinuations of illicit thrills.

The first taste is free.

TIME.com has just released its Summer Preview, sifting through the clutter to deliver a roadmap of the best things to do this summer – books to read, movies to see, events to attend – and I wanted to give you a heads up about the list: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/0,28757,1807150,00.html

Here are some highlights, in my opinion of course (can you tell I’m based in NYC?)–

• Henry Moore sculptures at The New York Botanical Garden, May 24 – Nov. 2 (it’s really unusual to see so many of his pieces together at one time): http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1807150_1807259_1806988,00.html

• Playing the Building: a weird, interactive musical installation by David Byrne at The Battery Maritime Building, May 31 – Aug. 10: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1807150_1807259_1807014,00.html

• Starting with the Universe: a comprehensive look at Buckminster Fuller, the wacky artist-engineer-early sustainability advocate (of geodesic dome fame), at the Whitney Museum of American Art, June 26 – Sept. 21: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1807150_1807261_1807173,00.html

• And my own personal favorite, “Hair” makes its 21st century debut at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park, July 22 – Aug. 17: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1807150_1807263_1807255,00.html

Here’s the link to the main Summer Preview page again in case you want to check out what other cities (and movie theaters and bookstores) have to offer: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/0,28757,1807150,00.html
