The IT Awards

I went to the IT Awards last night – well most of it.  It is amazing how much theater there is in this town! I hadn’t heard of a lot of these companies. I’d say I need to get out more, but I can’t get our more without replicating myself. Lisa Kron was super-funny as hostess, Martin Denton and Rochelle were great when they got honored and Judith Malina – along with a great clip reel of the Living Theater – was still a knockout.

All winners list after the jump….

New York, NY: On Monday September 22, 2008, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, and host Lisa Kron, announced the 2008 recipients at the Fourth Annual IT Awards Ceremony at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Blue Man Group, the wildly popular Off-Broadway sensation at the Astor Place Theater and international entertainment phenomenon, which combines music, comedy and multimedia theatrics to create a totally unique form of entertainment, performed the opening number and some additional segments.

Sponsored by TekServe, United Stages, Kampfire Films PR, Back Stage, Yeungling Beer and

GuS Soda.
