Hunter Blue at Mimi's

If you want a taste of old, weird NYC you need to hightail it up to Mimi’s restaurant on 2nd ave b/w 52nd and 53rd st. to check out Hunter Blue a/k/a Chicken Delicious.

Mimi’s is a madcap and always lively restaurant and bar that just exudes warmth and welcome. There’s always a strange mix of regulars and tourists of all shapes and sizes and most nights there’s Hunter Blue – the self-described “piano player, singer, spiritual adviser and bizarre entertainer extraordinaire.”  He kind of defies description – check out the video:

His repertoire is vast and he always has time to take requests. You never know when some banker-looking type will surprise you with a moody and moving rendition of “Blue Moon”. And for those of you boozy chanteuse-y types, you will be sure to savor your time in the spotlight amongst “friends you haven’t met yet”.

So put on your drinking hat and and your best singing outfit and I’ll see you at Mimi’s!
