Incubator Arts Project Accepting Residency Proposals

The Incubator Arts Project is now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 season. The residency program is a co-production effort geared toward artists and companies who are established and seeking a 1 to 4 week run.

The Incubator Arts Project Residency Program is a production residency and as such does not provide applicants with development space. The theater’s staff provides resources and support for artists who are in the position to self-produce. Each of the artists work closely with the staff to produce their work, receiving the theater and its equipment for the length of their residency, as well as press and marketing assistance over the year when the company is not on site and technical advice and support for their load-in and strike. The participating companies receive feedback from staff and advice on how to continue their professional development, including guidance with how to get their work shown in other NYC and international venues, fundraising, and marketing. However, the resident artists are expected to be artistically and technically self-sufficient with their own production staff.

Applicants’ projects should be at a level of development or conception such that the artist/collaborators can begin working immediately. Proposals should demonstrate that resources – personnel and material- are secured to begin working.

The theater is accepting applications for the period between July 2011 and June 2012.

Applications must be filled out and submitted using the online form on or before October 26, 2010. You may direct questions to the Incubator Arts Project’s producing director, Samara Naeymi at 212-420-1916 or samara@incubatorarts.org.
