Let’s Have A Meltdown!
On February 26th The Moth is having a story slam at The Bitter End. This theme is near and dear to my heart: Meltdowns. The promo says:
“Share your story about that treacherous break-up, the final straw at your nightmare job, or just a string of stresses that led to a major meltdown!”
The Moth “MELTDOWNS!”
Monday, February 26th
Location: The Bitter End 147 Bleecker Street
(btw. Thompson & LaGuardia – 6 to Bleecker)
7pm sign up; 7:30 show
$6 at door (a bargain!)
And really, who hasn’t been caught up in a nightmarish web of deceit and treachery that left them sleepless and paranoid, constantly sick to their stomach and occasionally weeping uncontrollably in the bathroom of Mo Pitkin’s? I know I have! Oh the joy of the meltdown! The only upside is that, once you’ve been fully and completely crushed by the conspiratorial machinations of others, you can surrender into a state of blissful nonattachment and, hopefully, re-connect to yourself and re-build. At least that’s what my therapist tells me.
I wish I could be there to share the misery but I will not be in town on February 26th! That’s right, your one and only Culturebot will be on vacation for the first time in over three years! Culturebot will be hiding on a beach far, far away. No electricity, no phone, no internet: just sand, cerveza and a sarong. So look forward to my trusty staff of new writer/editors keeping you informed and up-to-date on all the latest goings-on in the world of downtown theater!
Speaking of which. I’m looking to sublet my place while I’m out of town. Do you know someone who needs a place to stay while they visit NYC? email andyATps122DOTorg for more info on exact dates, times, prices, etc. Dig it.
