Kristopher Pourzal is a dance artist. Currently a PhD Candidate in Theatre and Performance Studies at University of Maryland, College Park, he teaches courses in theater and dance history with an emphasis on African American cultural production. He is at work on a dissertation historicizing Clark Center, a dance studio and school originally founded as an institutional home for Alvin Ailey in 1959.
