Yeah, we’re supposed to cover just performance, but hey I’m the boss of this place! So I’ll see you tonight at Bowery Ballroom for The Presidents of the United States of America.

I think people thought these guys were kind of a novelty band but when they first broke out they provided a nice release from all the angsty goodness of the early nineties. I still have fond (if blurry) memories of hearing drummer Jason Finn (formerly of the amazing but largely underappreciated Love Battery) play their demos over the sound system as he tended bar at The Comet Tavern – the entire bar would sing along. We’re not gonna make it, indeed!
