theater can be dangerous

The phrase “dangerous” theater is one that is pretty cringeworthy most of the time. Right along with “incendiary” or “controversial” it usually means little more than “naked people cursing and spouting obvious platitudes”. Its meaningless, of course, until your set catches fire. Or is torched.

I wasn’t there but apparently a Green Dragon float was set ablaze on sunday. I’m assuming it was created by the Greene Dragon Street Theater folks who’ve been doing really interesting stuff.

There’s so much out there from Sunday – pictures, stories, etc that I can’t possibly link to it all.

Barry and James have some great photos, and Gothamist has a post about Photobloggers against Bush which has tons of links to other pictures from the day.
