The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs puts together an event every year (well, at least the past two or three years) called Cool New York. It is a program to encourage people to go out and enjoy all the culture that NYC has to offer. And what with the warm weather, you have no excuse.
Last year they made these cool pocket subway maps and printed guides. This year they have an online event finder. It lets you search by category (dance, theater, event, etc.), borough and date. It is very comprehensive and easy to use. So get out there!!!
