Dublin Fringe Festival (DFF) is Ireland’s leading multi-disciplinary festival of contemporary performing arts, providing an annual platform for the most innovative and fresh theatre, visual arts, dance, live art, mixed media and music.

The Fringe celebrates new and emerging artists and fresh approaches to performance in all disciplines, nurturing artistic ambition and excellence. It is an opportunity to innovate, to cross disciplines and boundaries, and to find new ways and places to create work. Companies should use the Fringe as a chance to expand their typical palette, and derive inspiration from new sources, cultures, venues and processes.

The Fringe is a curated festival: we are seeking innovative and daring work that impacts, moves and invigorates. The Fringe provides an opportunity to try something new, to artistically challenge the company, yourself and our audiences.

Applicants

We accept applications from professional Irish and international artists/companies. We do not take work from amateur groups or students, however we are in the process of developing a new strand of the festival this year, ‘Young Fringe’, attracting younger theatre practitioners into engaging with the festival at an earlier stage. Artistic Partnerships & Creative Exchanges

The Fringe encourages creative exchange between international & Irish companies & individual artists. For the first time in 2005 applicants are asked to offer resources at hand to welcome and support incoming artists and start an ongoing dialogue.

Application Procedure

PLEASE download the application form from the website – http://www.fringefest.com and return the cover sheet by EMAIL by 29th April.

Please read the information attached carefully before submitting your application and ensure all questions have been answered.

The proposal itself MUST include:

An artistic description of the work
Rationale behind presenting the work in the Fringe Festival
Technical specifications as currently known, design ideas, stage & lighting plans sketches
Company background, work to date.
The following Supporting Documentation should accompany your application.

Copy of the script (if new or relatively unknown writing)
Video/CD of previous work
Biographies of those involved
Images
Reviews
Any other supporting information you feel the Fringe should know.
