Call for Proposals for New Program
Performance Space 122 is now seeking proposals for a new project development program called Room. Room seeks to match performance-makers with experts and professionals outside the arts world to collaborate on a performance, installation or event. For instance, a choreographer could work with an economist OR a playwright could work with an astrophysicist OR a musician could work with a dance company AND a bioethicist. Room is meant to encourage cross-disciplinary and intercultural work with an emphasis on non-traditional collaboration. If you are an artist seeking an expert (or vice versa) P.S. 122 will work to facilitate the collaboration. Projects selected for Room will receive subsidized rehearsal space, a small stipend and a week-long run at P.S. 122 in April/May 2006. Project proposals should include an overview of the project, video/dvd of previous work, a press kit and bios for primary artists and collaborators. Feel free to include any other relevant supporting information. Proposals are due by Friday, September 16th. Three proposals will be selected.
