USArtists International Program

A program of the National Endowment for the Arts, with support from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation and managed by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, USArtists International is committed to ensuring that the impressive range of expression and creativity of the U.S. performing arts is represented at international festivals abroad.

In its inaugural year, USArtists International will target support for U.S. dance and music ensembles and will focus on countries that comprise the European Union. Grants are available to U.S. dance and music ensembles that have been invited to participate in international festivals in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

To be eligible, applicant organizations must be a dance or music ensemble (including practitioners of folk and traditional forms) working at a professional level; consist of members who are citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.; and be designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization, or have a fiscal agent that is designated as a 501(c)(3)organization.

Grants will seldom cover the applicant’s total expenses and generally will range from $1,000 to $10,000.

The January 20, 2006 deadline is for projects taking place between March 15, 2006, and February 28, 2007.
