Portland’s H2M Theater Debuts “Uncanny Valley”

UNCANNY VALLEY – Official Trailer from Hand2Mouth Theatre on Vimeo.

Portland, Ore.–Hand2Mouth Theater, Portland’s most established experimental theater ensemble, is premiering their new show, Uncanny Valley, at the Artists Repertory Theater starting May 12 (tickets $12).

Developed over more than a year and through several workshops that included public showings (I caught it in residency at Reed College back in September during PICA’s TBA Festival), the 90-minute show is a sci-fi inspired exploration of memory in which the company (performing as themselves) explores their own past experiences, delving deep into the rough terrain of experience.

Visually impressive and more-than-ably performed by the company, whose decade or so of collaboration shows in the strength of their performances, Uncanny Valley promises to be a singularly cool event.
