Amy Whitaker’s Performance Lecture at NYLA

Amy Whitaker has an M.B.A. from Yale and an M.F.A in painting from the Slade School of Fine Art in London. She has worked in art museums including the Guggenheim, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Tate, and for a well-known artist and a well-known hedge fund. Her current practice as an artist and writer involves bringing economics together with artists in meaningful, accessible and actionable ways. I first met Amy through my work at LMCC and invited her to moderate a panel on Art, Money and Politics. You can listen to the podcast of that here. When I found out about Keith Hennessy’s show Turbulence I suggested that Carla have Amy come and do something about how markets work. This is that presentation/performance. Ironically enough the sound cuts out just at the point where she’s going to explain everything. Watch from the beginning but if you get antsy skip ahead to 16:02 and watch from there.
