In a recent letter Richard Foreman announced that as of July 1, 2010 the Ontological will cease operations at the Theater at St. Mark’s Church-in-the-Bowery, which it has called home since 1991. Ontological-Hysteric Theater will remain intact as an organization, producing and presenting Foreman’s work, but just not at the current space.

And how does this affect the Incubator? Well, the hope is that the Incubator will spin off as its own 501c3 and take over residence at St. Mark’s.  Let’s hope it does, as the Incubator has become one of the safest and most encouraging places in the country for artists to truly experiment with new forms.
